LEAVE YOUR UNHAPPY MARRIAGE
In part one of this blog series, we discussed some of the reasons why leaving an unhappy marriage is better for you and your family. We will continue our list, as well as recommend a legal office to help you achieve a divorce as quickly and painlessly as possible.
6. DON’T LET PEOPLE HOLD YOU BACK
You shouldn’t let anyone hold you back from what you would like to achieve. If your spouse has discouraged you from living your fullest life, a divorce could let you spread your wings. Being single again won’t make you vulnerable, in fact, it will make you more powerful. Why? Because finally, you will be able to do the things you want to do.
7. BEING ALONE DOESN’T MEAN YOU ARE LONELY
There is a common misconception that being alone means you are lonely — this is false! In fact, single people don’t have to feel lonely if they don’t want it. Single people have more freedom to do as they please and enjoy more of their lives. Though on occasion they can feel lonely, anyone can feel lonely no matter their marital status. If single people get lonely, they can always meet up with friends, enjoy spending time with their kids, or participate in a community event. Being alone doesn’t always mean you are lonely.
8. REGAIN A RELATIONSHIP WITH LOVE
When you are in a loveless marriage, it can be hard to believe romantic love still exists. Or rather, that if it exists, you will never be able to achieve it. This, too, is false. You are capable of being in a healthy, love-rich relationship. Just because one relationship did not work the way you wanted it to, doesn’t mean that you are incapable of being in a healthy relationship. Getting a divorce is a way that you can free yourself from a loveless marriage and open yourself to a romantic relationship again.
9. REFOCUS ON YOU AND YOUR NEEDS
When in an unhappy marriage, your thoughts can be consumed with disappointment, anger, and frustration. By using all of your emotions toward your spouse, you are probably unable to focus on yourself and what you want from life. Being able to let go of your anger towards your spouse allows you to refocus on more important things, such as your own happiness.
10. LEARN TO START OVER AGAIN
Getting a divorce can be scary because it means that you will be on your own. However, you shouldn’t be scared of being able to start fresh with your life. Getting a divorce can be a great way to “do things over.” Instead of seeing the end of your marriage as a sad thing, it may be getting to look at the silver linings of the situation.
